We've all been clinging on for dear life to the last few days of sun and warmth but let's face it - it's over. As the temperatures begin to drop and the evenings are getting suspiciously darker, it's natural that we as humans retreat to that which has never turned its back on us - our beloved streaming services.

Enter Black Widow, the latest instalment from the beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe which just so happens to be available to stream right now on Disney+ as part of your standard subscription.

So, what better way to declare you're officially embracing the cosiest time of year than setting yourself up on the couch with all the necessary essentials for an iconic Marvel movie night.

You'll need your basic essentials - microwave popcorn, a sharesize bag of Tayto (strictly not to be shared), a packet of Haribo. Perhaps a bottle of wine if you feel so inclined. A Deliveroo en route to your home from the moment you press play.

Above all else however, you need a proper Hollywood blockbuster to help you escape the dreary reality of an impending Irish winter. The kind of movie that transports you to another world and leaves you mesmerised by its breath-taking cinematography, charmed by its charismatic cast and clutching the edge of your seat with its suspenseful and fantastical storyline.

The film boasts an all star cast of cinema legends including none other than the ultimate leading lady Scarlett Johansson as the titular Black Widow (or Natasha Romanoff as she's also known). Also on board are Stranger Things star David Harbour, recent inhabitant of Ireland Florence Pugh, Ray Winstone, William Hurt and Rachel Weisz.

MCU fans will know that the film, set after the events of 2016's Captain America: Civil War, sees Romanoff on the run, separated from the now fractured Avengers. Whilst on the run, the Black Widow is left to confront the dark path she took to becoming a spy and an assassin. We see her reunite with an unlikely group of spies from her past before facing an opponent unlike anything she has ever faced before. We've got chills already - and the streaming release features a deleted scene that gives full details for a key moment at the end of the film.

"When you see Natasha in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she's often this kind of impenetrable force," says Johansson. "She's reckless and out of control but still has this amazing intellect."

"What are her secrets? Her vulnerabilities? I am excited to share her fragility and her strength. She is in a male world, and she projects a certain way of being in that world. What we wanted to do is find out who is the real Black Widow."

It is just us or has suddenly staying in has never sounded better? Black Widow is now streaming to all subscribers on Disney+ here.
