We've said it before and by god, we'll say it again - where would we be without food delivery services since this pandemic began?
Whether it was bringing you crucial meals during a period of self-isolation (or even worse, whilst battling the dreaded 'Rona itself) or perhaps just providing the only flicker of joy and excitement during yet another week of endless lockdown, it's safe to say we owe these guys a lot.
And don't get us started on the actual restaurants themselves. There were definitely times this past year when the sweet nectar of our local Chinese's black bean sauce truly felt like an elixir of life. There were days when the debate between which of our local chipper's had the most superior curry sauce was the only stimulating conversation our group chat could muster.

Well folks, now it's time to show these heroes some love as voting for the eighth annual Just Eat Takeaway Awards is now open.
The Just Eat Takeaway Awards 2021 is your chance to support your local restaurants and say thanks for the phenomenal quality of the food and services they've provided to you this year - after all, they are the makers of greatness!
It's also a great way to spread the word about your favourite hotspots and maybe even learn about some amazing new ones as you peruse the 26 voting categories.
Categories include the classics like Best Newcomer, Best Burger, Best International Chain, Best Chipper and Best Indian. Also open for voting are some categories that became particularly relevant to our lives throughout lockdowns such as Best Healthy and, let's face it, Best Breakfast.

And, of course, no Irish takeaway awards would be complete without a Best Spice Bag category. This is the category that will face the stiffest competition - in some cases, the debate over where to find the best spice bag has been known to tear marriages and families apart.
As if the opportunity to celebrate the best in class of Irish food and hospitality wasn't enough of an incentive to get involved, by submitting your votes you'll also be in with a chance of winning free takeaways on Just Eat for an entire year. What are you waiting for?
