Disney+ dropped their reimagining of a festive classic this weekend and it's certainly got people talking.

Home Sweet Home Alone is the 2021 update on the 1990 classic Home Alone - released just in time for Christmas. Here's the trailer:

The new film stars Archie Yates as Max Mercer, who gets abandoned at home while frantic mum Carol - played by Irish actor Aisling Bea - tries to get back to him.

In the meantime, Rob Delaney's hapless nice guy turned reluctant robber Jeff tries to break into the little lad's house and steal a doll. Following?

Well, Bea's English accent got social media users in a flap after the trailer dropped though, and she told LADbible it took her by surprise.

"I think it just blew everyone's minds," she said.

"Maybe it was too much for people to take in all at once. There was so much confusion and panic. I think people needed to express that into their mobile phones and tablets.

"They'll probably need to go to therapy to get their head around exactly what went down. I hope they're all ok."

So luckily Bea saw the funny side, as people online struggled to get to grips with the concept of acting.

"I suppose that's what Twitter was made for, " she said.

"Roasts and stuff. So in a way, I found it quite funny and joyful and unserious. And very low stakes as a problem."

Meanwhile, Delaney told LADbible he'd love to see a sequel to Home Sweet Home Alone - and get Macauley Culkin involved.

"Yes! Let's get him on the horn. I'd like to work with Macauley Culkin on anything," he said.

"It doesn't have to be a Home Alone thing. But sure, why not.

"If it was the same creative team - written by the same person and directed by the same guy and had the same and had Aisling, Ellie (Kemper) and Archie in it, then sure.

"A sequel just to do a sequel, no.

"But if it were done by people who loved it and did a good job on the first one then sure."
