Since The Queen's Gambit was added to Netflix last month, fans have been hoping for another instalment and it might just be on the cards one day.

Star of the show Anya Taylor-Joy has said she'd be up for a second season of the hit series.

Taylor-Joy, who plays chess genius Beth Harmon, said she would 'certainly' reprise her character if she was asked.

Speaking to Town & Country, Anya said: "If I've learned anything from being in this industry, it's never say never.

"I adore the character, and I would certainly come back if I was asked to, but I do think we leave Beth in a good place.

"I think the rest of her life will surely be an adventure as well, but in the quest that she goes on in this to find some form of peace, just some form of being able to be happy with who she is.

"I think it ends in a nice place."

Netflix says in its synopsis of the series: "Haunted by her personal demons and fuelled by a cocktail of narcotics and obsession, Beth transforms into an impressively skilled and glamorous outcast while determined to conquer the traditional boundaries established in the male-dominated world of competitive chess."

Of course though, although Anya would be game to star in another season of the show, there is only one book.

There has been no news from Netflix on any possibility of more to come either - but we live in hope.

Many TV adaptations have gone on to have more seasons of shows, using the book as a springboard for the reimagining for the screen. Looks like it might be down to the fans on this one.

And while Netflix is deciding whether the show should just be left as it is, fans are trying to get their heads around chess player Harry Beltik, who is played by Harry Melling.

Melling rose to fame after playing Dudley Dursley, the cruel and spoiled child who we first met in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Dudley's final appearance in the Harry Potter franchise was in The Deathly Hallows Part I, but fans have taken to social media to voice their amazement at how different he looks:

It's been two decades since Philosopher's Stone to be fair, he was bound to change in some way.
