If you've been watching Love Island Australia, you may have spotted a familiar face - John James was actually on Big Brother back in 2010.

The 2018 series from down-under is currently being shown on ITV2 in lieu of the summer season of the UK show, but John James Parton has caught people off guard, making many double take.

It's fair to say that he does like quite a bit different, but it wouldn't be Love Island if the contestants didn't all look incredible, would it?

Well it looks as though John James has always been destined for fame. Back in the 2010s, the reality TV star had that bleached sweeping side fringe, a flash diamante earring and some divisive stone wash denim.

Now though, the 34-year-old is a professional DJ in Melbourne, Australia, and you can barely recognise him from his BB days. With a new, less 2010 hair do, tattoos and tan, he also models on alongside his music career.

He first hit the big time when he went into Big Brother, where he and fellow contestant Josie Gibson had a romance.

The pair stayed together after leaving the show, even getting their own spin-off, There's Something About Josie.

But it turned out not to be the happily-ever-after you would expect a couple that met on reality TV to have, and the pair went their separate ways.

They split in 2011, amid claims that John James had cheated on Josie, which he denied.

But of course, John James went on to relocate to the other side of the world, and now he's on our screens on Love Island repeats every night at 9pm.

In his promo tape for the show, John James says: "In my past I've dated school teachers, promo models, strippers," and he also says he's never been rejected by a love interest.

He added: "Ex-girlfriends would say I was manipulative, they felt insecure and that they couldn't trust me - even if I hadn't done anything.

"I'm pretty open... I've been with bigger girls, skinny girls, girls that look like they're on heroin, girls that look like they've been to Hungry Jacks nine times a year - it doesn't really matter."

John James also revealed his mates called him 'Johnny three months', stating that his last serious relationship was with a 19-year-old.

After her split with John James, 35-year-old Josie said she was heartbroken. She now presents on This Morning.
