Billie Eilish Releases Her James Bond Song No Time To Die

Billie Eilish Releases Her James Bond Song No Time To Die

Teenage sensation Billie Eilish has released her song for the upcoming James Bond film No Time To Die.

It's certainly darker than the previous tracks performed by the likes of Adele and Sam Smith, which hopefully foreshadows the 007 film being equally moody.

Eilish was unveiled as the artist behind the new Bond song at the beginning of this year, when it was announced that she and her brother Finneas O'Connell would be writing and recording the new track together.

Quoted in a tweet released by the official James Bond Twitter account, 18-year-old Eilish said: "It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honour.

"James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I'm still in shock."

The franchise also said Eilish's forthcoming 007 theme would make her the 'youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song' - not bad for someone who's also just become the youngest person to win all four of the main Grammy categories, having scooped Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year at the 2020 ceremony.

The new Bond tune - also called 'No Time To Die' - was teased yesterday with a short 13-second preview.

Despite the fact it was just a small taster of the track, it proved to be an immediate hit with fans, with one writing: "This gives me so many chills."

As for what's in store for him this time round, the synopsis explains: "Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help.

"The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology."

We'll see Rami Malek introduced as new villain Safin, joined by other newcomers like Knives Out star Ana de Armas and Captain Marvel's Lashana Lynch.
