In news that all Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans have waited for - the show that we all know and love has been officially renewed for season eight.

The reports that NBC is bringing back the workplace comedy have been confirmed, although as you'll be aware we're still waiting for season seven to premiere on 6 February in the US.

You might remember that the show was cancelled back at the end of season five by Fox - so it's pretty good going that they managed to get another three out of it.

And of course - fans are more than a bit excited.

The news comes just after the series was confirmed to return to screens in February next year, with an hour-long episode, no less.

That means that you won't have to wait that long to see everyone's favourite police team back in action.

Yep, if you're in the USA, you'll be able to watch a bumper episode of B99 when it airs on NBC.

If you - like the rest of us - are stuck over here in good ol' Blighty, the likelihood is that you'll have to see what Netflix says about when you'll get the chance to see the new series.

However, these things usually align closer to the time, so hold out hope.
