Caitlyn Jenner tried to hold back tears as she explained why she decided to do I'm A Celebrity in her Extra Camp interview.

Speaking on the spin-off show, she said that she wanted to be a 'positive inspiration' to viewers of the show.

As she discussed her appearance with host Emily Atack, crew applauded her brave admission.

The 70-year-old said: "One of the reasons I wanted to do this show is because obviously I'm trans and I've had to deal with this all my life.

"There's a lot of other people that are behind closed doors. Everybody's got stuff and everybody's got things that they have to deal with.

"I wanted to be a positive inspiration to people, that you know what you can have differences, you can have issues, but just live your life authentically.

"It doesn't mean it's the end of your life, that you can go out, you can do stuff like this, you can be in the public eye. There is a life after it."

Caitlyn held back tears when she said: "You just wake up in the morning, and try to be yourself."

Fans were devastated after seeing that no one had come to meet Caitlyn Jenner following her I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! exit.

The 70-year-old was booted off the show, becoming the seventh star to leave this series.

However, as she confidently strutted across the bridge to the photographers, it quickly became apparent that none of her family had made the journey to greet her.

Viewers took to social media to share their shock at the reality TV star being left alone - despite having 10 children and 20 grandchildren - with some claiming they were 'heartbroken' for her.

One viewer commented: "NOBODY greeted Caitlyn at the bridge? That's so f***ing heartbreaking."

However, other reports suggest that off-camera, fellow campmate James Haskell met her at the end of the bridge.

Then, Caitlyn later took to Instagram to mend the hearts of the nation, telling her followers: "Just got out of the jungle and actually getting hair and makeup done - and boy, do I need it! Haven't had it in weeks.

"But when I came out of the jungle - got a lot of friends there - but I had a big surprise when I got to the hotel. Sophia's here, yaaaaaaay".

Caitlyn turns the camera to 23-year-old Sophia, who had been waiting at the Palazzo Versace Gold Coast hotel. Phew.
