Captain America writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have finally waded in on an age-old debate among Marvel fans - confirming, once and for all, whether or not Steve Rogers is a virgin.
Yep, for some reason, Cap's sex life has been something that has baffled viewers for years, prompting Reddit threads, Mashable think-pieces and endless Twitter chatter.
We've never had a firm resolution to the mystery, but now we finally have some answers from two of the men who arguably know the character best.

American screenwriters Markus and McFeely wrote all three Captain America movies, meaning if anyone's got the authority to comment on Rogers' sex life, it's probably them.
The duo sat down with Yahoo to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Captain America: The First Avenger, with journalist Kevin Polowy taking one for the team by asking bluntly: "Did you guys ever at least ever talk about Cap losing his virginity?"
It turned out to be a topic that they were more than happy to address, and also transpired they both have nothing but confidence in Rogers' sexual prowess.

An excited McFeely said immediately: "I think he loses his virginity!
"Why do people think he's a virgin? I think if you look like that, and you're going city to city, and you're signing autographs... The likes of the ladies you're signing autographs for... I gotta imagine that..."
Markus then cut in: "I mean, the thing to remember is that Steve Rogers isn't a prude.
"He may be occasionally presented that way, but he's a guy who believes in right and wrong and all these things - but he's not a choir boy. He's a WWII veteran."
Virgin or not, the beloved superhero will no longer be played by actor Chris Evans, who announced back in 2018 that he had hung up the shield.

He posted an emotional statement on social media after filming wrapped for Avengers: Endgame, saying: "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."
In January of this year, reports began to circulate that Evans would be returning to the role, despite the actor saying it was all news to him.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige eventually shut down the rumours as well, saying an interview with Entertainment Weekly: "I rarely answer no to anything anymore because things are always surprising me with what happens, but that rumour, I think, was dispelled rather quickly by the man himself."
