It's been nearly five years since we said goodbye to the beautiful team at the Parks Department of Pawnee, Indiana.

But it looks like we'll get to see the cast back in action and in character as they reunite for a one-off TV special.

TV Line reports all your favourites will be back for the 30-minute episode, including Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O'Heir, and Retta.

NBC

It will air on NBC, with the network releasing a statement saying: "Pawnee's most dedicated civil servant, Leslie Knope [Poehler], is determined to stay connected to her friends in a time of social distancing."

Who knows whether the show will pick up where it left off with a few coronavirus-related lines thrown in or whether it will be more of a reunion type episode where the characters have had years' worth of experiences to debrief on.

From the sounds of things, it will probably be Leslie Knope trying to figure out how to work a Zoom call with all of her favourite former employees.

Parks and Rec executive producer and co-creator Mike Schur is excited for the special episode and hopes it will raise people's spirits during this difficult time.

"Like a lot of other people, we were looking for ways to help and felt that bringing these characters back for a night could raise some money," Mike said in a statement.

"I sent a hopeful email to the cast and they all got back to me within 45 minutes.

"Our old Parks and Rec team has put together one more 30-minute slice of (quarantined) Pawnee life and we hope everyone enjoys it. And donates!"

The money raised from the episode will be donated to Feeding America's COVID-19 Response Fund.

We probably won't get to see the team together again like this so you better lap it up while it's happening.
