A couple who decided to move in together after just one date due to the coronavirus lockdown are still going strong more than eight months on.

Appearing on Channel 4's The Year That Changed Love, Claire, 31, and Jade, 27, from Scotland, shared their unusual journey to love, which saw them move in to isolate together after their first date.

Opening up about how they met, Claire said: "We matched on Tinder and then that day, I clocked her and thought she's bonny - so sent a Snapchat of my boobs."

Jade replied: "Basically straight in. I was having a fag and nearly choked on it. It was two in the afternoon!"

The direct approach worked on Jade and the pair met up and had a date - with Scotland set to head into a lockdown, the couple had to decide what they wanted to.

Claire, who moved in with Jade, said: "We isolated together after one date.

"It was like being thrown in the deep end. It's like every morning. Normally you have one morning where you can escape before they wake up, but it was like, 'No, I'm still here.'

"It was strange."

The pair say they are 'complete polar opposites' when it comes to their personalities but they've still managed to make it work.

Claire added: "We had an agreement that if we were to majorly fallout or argue or something, she would drive me home."

When lockdown ended, the pair were faced with another big decision - carry on as they were or go back to living separately - and as Claire revealed on the show, she cleared out her old flat and officially moved in with Jade.

Claire said: "We've merged I guess quickly, but it doesn't feel quickly. It was just condensed so it was just a fast-forward."

While Jade added: "This is it, for me anyway! This is pretty much us set, hopefully!"

D'aww.

Viewers were delighted that the couple managed to last despite the unusual start to their relationship.

Posting on Twitter, one person said: "Crazy the moved in together after one date and it's worked out for them but fair play."

Another posted: "Moved in after one date? Almost like #MarriedAtFirstSight."

While a third wrote: "So glad Claire and Jade stayed together."
