Courteney Cox has given Friends fans a blast from the past, having posted a selfie with her former on-screen husband, Matthew Perry.

To really hammer it home, Cox also chucked a few Friends references in the caption, writing: "Guess who I had lunch with today....I KNOW!! Could I BE any happier? #realfriends."

And it gets better, as some of the old gang popped up, with Cox and Perry's co-star Lisa Kudrow commented: "Lucky lucky. #beautifulpeople."

Jennifer Aniston - who joined Instagram recently - then also commented: "MATTY!! I LOVE YOU, GUYS."

Damn, these guys sure know how to work an Insta-crowd.

"This makes me so happy I wanna cry," one Instagrammer gushed.

Another wrote: "Could i be any happier?"

Of course, Cox's snap with Perry hasn't been the only Friends reunion we've seen on social media recently, as Aniston also decided to christen her brand new Instagram account with a selfie featuring all six of the castmates - each poking their heads out behind hers, grinning.

She captioned the photo: "And now we're Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM."

The image proved so iconic, that Aniston's follower count soon racked up - and within a matter of mere weeks she now has 18.7 MILLION people following her account.

Of course, the popularity of the social media photos just proves how much the people want a proper Friends reunion - which is something that Aniston isn't ruling out.

Appearing on Ellen DeGeneres' show last month, Aniston was asked whether or not a reunion would be happening.

Aniston replied: "Like a reboot? No."

But before you get disappointed, the actor had more for us - admitting the crew had 'something' on the go.

She continued: "Listen, we would love for there to be something, but we don't know what that something is. So we're just trying. We're working on something."

When host DeGeneres pressed Aniston to divulge a little more - such as whether or not this project might be a movie - she remained cagey.

"I don't want to lead people on," she said.

Speaking of how she almost broke the internet by joining Instagram and posting that now-iconic selfie, Aniston said: "We did that because we miss each other and we all happened to be in the same part of the world."
