Former Disney actor turned porn star Maitland Ward will be returning to TV.

Maitland, who originally made her name in Boy Meets World, started working in the adult film industry and recently made an OnlyFans.

She says she makes more on that than she made in her acting career, adding she is 'very fortunate' because she gets six figures a month from OnlyFans, more than she ever made from mainstream acting.

She told TMZ: "I have amazing fans that have just shown up, really it was a time [during the pandemic] when we were alone and stressed and that's a time when we need to connect and get off.

"I feel very fortunate because I get six figures a month from OnlyFans - and continually too."

But she'll be splitting her time between OnlyFans and acting when she starts shooting for new TV sitcom called The Big Time in May.

According to the New York Post, it will be based on a 'world-famous adult superstar'.

Maitland, 44, told the publication: "I want to slay both industries. I love and embrace both. Me being bold and free in my sexuality and so out there with it has really given me that power. When I was like this innocent flower, I was letting everyone else dictate what I should do or what I should be."

The show will follow Ward's character, who has had a successful porn career before being asked to save a film studio.

She is paired with a 'nerdy aspiring writer and mama's boy' who gives a new perspective on her work to help the studio.

Maitland added: "It's going to have nudity, but it is going to be light-hearted. It's not going to be like, bubblegum."

The adult film star has no regrets about her career choices.

She said: "When people always say, 'Oh porn's going to ruin you. You'll never be seen by mainstream again. Nobody will ever want to hire you and porn will ruin it. It's given me my acting career back. It really has."

Speaking about her change of direction, she said: "It was a long time ago, I had left the television world behind.

"If I wanted to be sexy, I'd hear, 'Oh, no, you're too hot for that.' And in a lot of auditions, they would only see me as this Boy Meets World type of person and they wouldn't see me any way else.

"I love doing comedy. I just got tired of being typecast, and only seen for certain kinds of roles when I wanted to do so much more."
