Another day, another true crime documentary to obsess over. The latest in Netflix's ever-growing roster is called Don't F*** With Cats and comes with a premise as strange as its title.

Described as the most messed up true crime you'll ever watch, the three-part docu-series details the horrifying crimes of Canadian killer Luka Magnotta, who filmed himself torturing animals and posted them online back in 2010.

As the online community attempted to bring him down, little did they know he had more horrors planned. Magnotta turned his focus to human victims, leading to the murder and dismemberment of Chinese student Jun Lin who he met on a dating site.

Magnotta was eventually caught by authorities in an internet cafe in Berlin, where he was reportedly looking at photos of himself on Interpol.

It goes without saying that this series is not for the fainthearted - but if this sounds like your cup of twisted tea, Don't F*** With Cats is available to watch on Netflix as of yesterday (18 December).

Already the show has garnered a stream of early reactions online, with one writing on Twitter: "If you need a f***ed up Netflix documentary to watch then Don't F*** With Cats is the one for you."

Another said: "BE WARNED before watching. I had to close my eyes & I almost threw up & I can handle watching a lot."

A third wrote: "Don't F*** With Cats is one of the most disturbing yet brilliant murder documentaries on Netflix right now!!! I was hooked from start to finish!"

A fourth warned: "Holy s*** Don't F*** With Cats on Netflix is literally the scariest s*** I've ever seen. Actual nightmare fuel."

There were several viewers who said they had to switch the show off just minutes into watching and some found the show's descriptions of animal cruelty hard to handle. But the general consensus is that Don't F*** With Cats is an essential watch for any true crime addicts out there.

Speaking about the show, director Mark Lewis - the man behind Silk Road: Drugs, Death And The Dark Web - said: "What is so mind-blowing for me about this documentary series is that it plays out like a real thriller."

He added that the show has 'twists and turns that no-one will see coming, a cast of internet heroes whose resourcefulness will have you cheering from the sidelines, and a murderer whose true identity will have you gasping when he is finally unmasked'.
