DC Fans Show Their Appreciation For Ben Affleck's Performances As Batman

Batfleck was a controversial appointment, but it would seem he's still got an army of devoted fans

Fans of Ben Affleck's performances in the Batman films have taken to social media to thank the star for his portrayal of the Caped Crusader.

Affleck has appeared as The Dark Knight on three occasions, notably in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as Suicide Squad and Justice League.

Admittedly, that Suicide Squad appearance was only a cameo, but they all count in the end.

Anyway, despite Affleck being a controversial choice for the role - particularly after Christopher Nolan's wildly successful Dark Knight trilogy - he's still got an army of fans out there, and they've been very vocal online about their enjoyment of 'Batfleck' and his work.

The call to arms came from a Twitter fan account called @SupesBatsy - obviously a Bat-stan - who said: "TODAY IS THE DAY.

"Let's show @BenAffleck how much we love his Batman, how much that role meant to us and how much we look forward to seeing him back in the cowl."

Others quickly responded to this throwing up of the Batfleck signal.

Another Twitter user wrote: "To @BenAffleck

"Your portrayal of Gothams most eligible bachelor was/is second to none!

"#ThanksBatfleck"

Another singled out a particular scene that they found to be particularly powerful, writing: "Ben's portrayal of PTSD in the Martha scene is exceptional and one of the reasons it works so well. I'll never stop defending it. Most people don't get it but this guy does..."

Yet another person offered: "I said it before & I'll say again, your Batman is still the absolute best. I'm blessed to have seen such a great performance.

"I can't wait to see more of it in Zack's cut of JL. It'd be great if you came back for your own film but you have my support anyway."

Whilst many have taken on the Batman role in the past - George Clooney, Christian Bale, Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton, and Adam West have all had a go - few would appear to have such devoted fans as Batfleck's army of admirers.

Exactly why they've chosen today to show their undying love for Affleck's Bruce Wayne is unclear, but it's always nice to be nice, isn't it?

It's long been thought that Affleck had hung up the cowl for good, but there have been rumours that an announcement could be made regarding the future of Batman at the DC Fandome event which is set to take place in August.

These Affleck-addicts will have to wait until then to find out if their wishes will come true.
