After waiting for so many years, fans of the cult classic Australian comedy series Fat Pizza will get to lap up the characters all over again.

A reboot will launch on our tellies tonight on 7Mate and it's set to be hilarious.

Fat Pizza: Back in Business will carry on the legacy of the original series, which debuted all the way back in 2003.

Channel 7

Pauly Fenech, who played the lead character Pauly Falzoni, has told 7News.com.au: Fat Pizza is one of the boldest Aussie comedies on television.

"Get set for bigger and cheesier storylines straight from the headlines. Social media trolls, get ready to rumble!"

In this reboot, Pauly has upgraded from pizza delivery boy to boss of Fat Pizza and now he's calling the shots.

According to Channel 7, the show's synopsis is: "Struggling to get his business up and running, Pauly finds himself fighting with councils, street gangs, politicians and a new foe, the world of app-driven delivery services.

"With underpaid workers and a pizza chef struggling with English, Pauly's business dreams quickly turn into a living nightmare."

Pauly has also promised the show is going to be just as politically incorrect as it originally was.

Fenech told the Sydney Morning Herald: "The whole point of political correctness was to stop people being mean, and there's nothing mean-spirited in what we do. We make light of whatever's out there.

"No matter the context or the material, as long as it's silly, it's funny. It's as simple as that. It's the mystery of comedy - if it's funny, you'll forgive it.

"Let's face it - it's the stuff that's in all the tabloid newspapers that trades on all that fear. The African gangs are a big, scary thing for a lot of people in Australia because the media's creating that idea, so don't shoot the messenger. If you can't see what the joke actually is, I don't know what to tell you."

In addition to Pauly Fenech's character returning we can also expect Mama, Sleek and Bobo as well as a few characters from Housos like Shazza, Vanessa and Kev the Kiwi.

But it wouldn't be a 2019 reboot unless it had a few celebrity cameos and we can expect the likes of Brendan Jones, Jean Kittson, Anthony Mundine, Angry Anderson, Holly Brisley, Melissa Tkautz, Chris Franklin, Garry Who and George Kapiniaris all taking part.

We've been promised a few new characters; the actors haven't been confirmed but their names are Chef Jin Pin, Jayden, the proud bogan Aussie and Mexican rapper Tuco Swarez.

The show will hit 7Mate tonight at 8:30pm AEST.
