Film Fan Spots Jurassic Park Velociraptor Blunder 27 Years After Film's Release

Film fans have spotted a blunder in iconic dinosaur flick Jurassic Park, having supposedly clocked the moment someone's arm grabs onto the tail of a raptor.

Hopefully you already knew the dinosaurs in the 1993 film weren't real, and were in actual fact the meticulous work of full-scale models, costumes and the odd bit of CGI. I mean, if you didn't, then you've got an absolute bombshell coming your way about Santa.

And because these prehistoric film stars sadly (thankfully) weren't able to think for themselves, on set there were also crew members who had to control the model dinosaurs for the screen, moving them to make it look like they were the real deal.

But while these mysterious operators remain out of sight for the majority of the film, viewers have noticed the moment one pops their arm out behind a door frame.

You'll remember the scene - it's the one where a couple of velociraptors manage to get into the kitchen where Tim (Joseph Mazzello) and Lex (Ariana Richards) are hiding.

Dr Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) tells Dr Alan Grant (Sam Neill) that things will be fine, unless the raptors 'figure out how to open doors', which is when the camera cuts to the two dinosaurs doing precisely that.

Sharing the clip on Reddit, a user called u/Unicorn-Shaman wrote: "In Jurassic Park (1993), there is a scene where the raptor opens the door to the kitchen and you can spot an operator grab the raptor's tail."

And it turns out many others hadn't realised, despite having seen the film countless times in their lives.

One commented: "One of the most iconic scenes in cinema. Williams soundtrack with the extended notes and the intensity of the scene can't be matched. And OP just obliterated it. Well done. This is hilarious."

Someone else wrote: "I've watched this so many times growing up and still to this day if it's on television. Never noticed."

Another said: "I feel like this is a testament to how good a movie it is. Could have been a bloke in raptor facepaint and I wouldn't have noticed as a kid."

A fourth joked: "What a f***ing idiot, does he want to get bitten?"
