The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, a film in which Nicolas Cage plays Nicolas Cage in a film that's entirely about - you've guessed it - Nicolas Cage, has been given an official release date of 19 March 2021.
If this is the first you've heard of this, then you're no doubt (and completely understandably) confused as hell.
Let me try to explain what is actually going on here.
Basically, it's a meta-action film - because that's apparently a thing - devised by Tom Gormican (Ghosted, That Awkward Moment) and Kevin Etten (Ghosted, Reaper, Workaholics).
It seems as if the plot focuses on Cage, who is suffering from financial difficulties, agreeing to take a massive $1m payday to show up at the birthday of an incredibly wealthy super fan.
Things quickly take a dangerous turn, which means Cage will be called into action and forced to live up to his on-screen action hero reputation.
We're absolutely sure that he'll come out on top. He always does, after all.
The film, which will be directed by Gormican and is to be produced by Kevin Turen, has actually been in the works for a while now.
Unsurprisingly, there was a lot of studio interest in this particular movie. After what you'd have to imagine was a bidding frenzy, Lionsgate eventually secured the rights to make the film happen.
Given that it will win every single Oscar, Golden Globe and potentially even the FIFA World Cup trophy too, it's a sound investment.
As ever, the Academy Award winning genius Cage has been a busy boy of late.
He's recently starred in Wally's Wonderland, as well as Mandy, Primal, and Grand Isle. He'll return to UK cinemas later this month in bizarre fantasy/science fiction film Colour Out of Space.
Is there anything the guy can't turn his considerable acting talent to?
Well, we'll soon find out, because now he's about to embark on the most challenging role he's ever played - himself.
To be fair, he's just about the only living person that would be capable of it.
So, that's the date to get into your diary - 19 March 2021.
That means we've only got 409 days to wait until we can see what's in store.
