First Look At Brand New The Suicide Squad Movie

Director James Gunn has said it's the 'biggest movie' he's ever made

A behind-the-scenes clip gives us our first glimpse of The Suicide Squad.

The brand-new footage dropped during DC's virtual FanDome Panel this weekend.

In the clip, not only we did get see the impressive cast but also our very first shots from filming as well as interviews with the cast and crew.

Director James Gunn revealed it was 'by far the most fun I've ever had making a movie'.

While producer Peter Safran teases: "This is a gritty 1970s war movie combined with the brilliance of James Gunn's characters and comedy."

Aussie star Margot Robbie will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn - with Gunn admitting that she was the character he was 'most excited' for write for.

Also back for the second time is Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag.

Idris Elba is stepping into the role of Floyd Lawton/Bloodshot - who was played by Will Smith in the 2016 flick.

John Cena is playing Peace-Maker - a character he describes as a 'douchey Captain America' - with Pete Davidson as Blackguard. Viola Davis will return as Amanda Waller and Jai Courtney is back as Captain Boomerang.

And it seems like Gunn has very high hopes for the movie, revealing: "I was excited to do this suicide squad in the way it could be done from my point of view.

"This is by far the biggest movie I have ever made... and will be different from any superhero movie ever made."

Given that Gunn previously directed two Guardians of the Galaxy films, it seems like comic book fans may be in for a treat when this latest movie arrives.

The Suicide Squad is set to land in cinemas next year.
