Tom Holland has posted two photos giving us a sneak peak into his portrayal of Nathan Drake in the upcoming movie Uncharted.

The 24-year-old, who is of course best known for playing Spider-Man, shared an on-set picture of himself wearing Drake's treasure hunter gear.

He stars in the Sony film as a younger version of the video game character and now he's given us a glimpse into what expect when the film is released on 6 July 2021.

The developers of the franchise, Naughty Dog, shared a photo of Holland on set, speaking to the voiceover actor playing Drake, Nolan North.

It was captioned: "Find someone who looks at you like Nate looks at Nate."

Holland then quote-tweeted the image, saying: "Do you think Sony would be p***ed if I spontaneously uploaded a first look picture. I got Nolan's approval so I guess they can't fire me now."

He followed it up with the image of him as the treasure hunter.

It was captioned: "It's nice to meet you, I'm Nate. #uncharted"

Despite now being on its seventh director, the film has found its way to production with Ruben Fleischer - best known for Zombieland and Venom - at the helm.

It's set for a July 2021 release but that could change after everyone was sent home on the first day of shooting because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel from his home in London, Holland said: "I was in Berlin making a film called Uncharted with Mark Wahlberg, and we were all ready to go and we went to set for Day One shooting, and then we got shut down and we all got sent home. So whether we shoot [Uncharted] first or if we shoot Spider-Man first, I'm unclear."

Holland himself has grafted for the role, hitting the gym to keep up with co-star Mark Wahlberg, who will be taking on the role of older sidekick Victor 'Sully' Sullivan.

Holland - who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, posted a topless mirror selfie with the caption: "When working with @markwahlberg you gotta get after it!" Can't say we blame him.
