Beloved kids' show Fraggle Rock is returning for a brand new mini-series on Apple TV+, having been shot on iPhones during the coronavirus pandemic.

Many of you may remember Jim Henson's original puppet-based series, which was chiefly popular during the 1980s. Even if you weren't alive at the time, you've no doubt heard of its lasting legacy as it's been referenced in pop culture, some 37 years after debuting.

Well, now the gang are back together for a special new series aiming to help teach kids and their families how to have fun while in lockdown during the global coronavirus pandemic.

Apple TV+ has released a teaser trailer for the new programme, Fraggle Rock: Rock On!, which shows Gobo Fraggle dancing to an instrumental version of the show's famous theme tune.

A press release on the Apple website also gives us some idea about what we can expect from the narrative, explaining: "The beloved stars of the classic '80s series - Gobo, Red, Boober, Mokey, Wembley and Uncle Travelling Matt - join together again for new stories and classic Fraggle songs that show everyone how we are all connected through friendship.

"While the Fraggles might be in different parts of the Fraggle Rock caves, they can still find ways to have fun together, with music, silliness, special guests, and of course the help of devices created by the industrious Doozers - lovingly called the Doozertubes!"

And don't worry, the producers have ensured they're taking social distancing measures as seriously as you all are, having shot the series 'on iPhone 11 phones from the homes of the production team and individual artists from all over the US'.

The wonders of technology these days, eh? They definitely couldn't have done that in the 80s.

New mini-episodes will be premiering 'globally for free' on Apple TV+ every Tuesday, meaning all you have to do is sit back and let the nostalgia kick in - something fans are clearly already keen to do, having taken to social media to express their sheer delight.

One person tweeted: "Best news everrrr!!!"

Another gushed: "It's like my childhood revisited!"

Let's all bring some positivity, support and fun to anyone who might find themselves in isolation as a result of the coronavirus spread. Need some entertainment? Join Isolation Nation: https://www.facebook.com/groups/coronasupport/
