The co-creator of Friends says the reunion special should begin filming in August - all being well with that b*stard thing that delayed it in the first place.

David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc will be back together on TV for the first time in the HBO Max Special, where they will discuss the highlights of their time on the much-loved show.

It was originally due to air in May, but then coronavirus happened, and now Marta Kauffman has revealed they're aiming to start shooting in August.

Speaking to The Wrap, she said: "We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open.

"If everything is in place and we understand all the protocols and we can still make a good show, we'll be shooting it some time, mid-to-late August."

It was originally billed as an unscripted show, but Kauffman suggested it will involve 'ways of looking at this that doesn't just feel like a mini-doc' and will feature 'components that are fresh and new'.

How very intriguing.

The cast confirmed the reunion in February, sending social media into a frenzy.

Hopeful speculation about a reunion had been growing for a while and surged massively after Jennifer Aniston announced her arrival on Instagram with a selfie alongside her famous friends.

The picture went on to receive more than 16 million likes - which isn't too shabby for a first post, is it?

Here's hoping we'll be seeing a lot more of the pals in the not too distant future.
