Before this year's Gavin & Stacey Christmas special was confirmed, Joanna Page saw Ruth Jones had been trying to get in contact with her and became extremely worried - but only because she initially feared that 'dodgy photos' had leaked.

The actor, who plays Stacey on the popular BBC One sitcom, told Metro: "Ruth just got in touch with me on every form of social media, email, message, everything... but I'm not very good at getting back in touch with people. I'm terrible, absolutely terrible.

"I didn't respond for a bit, because I was busy with the kids and everything. But then I thought, 'Oh my gosh, she's WhatsApped me, emailed me, texted me and phoned me, and she said, 'You need to speak to me, I need to talk to you about something.'

"My first thought - and bear in mind this is from a mum of three children, who's looking after three children all the time - my first thought was, 'Oh God, it's either something really good, like the show's coming back, or something really bad. Is she going to tell me there's some really dodgy photos of me which are going to hit all the newspapers?!'"

Just before anyone got ahead of themselves, Joanna quickly added: "There are no photos. But it was just the first thought in my head. Then I thought, 'Why would they go through Ruth to tell me that?!' and then I thought, 'For God's sake, just phone her!'

"I was like, 'Just quick, tell me now!' and she told me and I was like. 'Oh my God! I'm so excited!'"

Did anyone else manage to channel Stacey's enthusiasm when they read that? It can't just be me.

The Christmas special, which airs on - you guessed it - Christmas Day (at 8.30pm), will revisit the Shipmans and the Wests, a decade on from when we last saw them. It's going to be emotional, guys.

We don't know much about what will happen, but according to Metro, the one-off episode will check in on Gavin and Stacey following 10 years of marriage, with kids in tow as they spend Christmas Day in Barry.

Could this be one of the couple's children?

You might want to cast your minds back to the final episode of season three, where Stacey joyously announced she was pregnant after struggling to conceive with Gavin.

Then, a six-month flash-forward at the end of the episode showed a heavily pregnant Stacey, enjoying a day at the beach with Gavin, Nessa and Smithy.

People have been wondering for years what their child/children may look like and now it seems some fans have spotted one of them - 22 seconds into the trailer.

Sharing the trailer, one person wrote on Twitter: "Hang on. Is that boy running and hugging Pam Neil the baby [Smithy and Nessa's son] or is it Gavin and Stacey's kid?" We'll soon find out.
