Gino D'Acampo went down a very bizarre route to explain something on This Morning earlier today, and his comments - which included a mention for Holly Willoughby's vagina - have left fans shocked and confused.

So, Gino was appearing on the show today to make a lovely tiramisu in honour of the man who invented the delightful dessert.

Ado Campeol has died at the age of 93, but he left behind a favourite sweet dish for everyone, and Gino decided that he'd knock one up today to celebrate his life.

However, whilst he was doing just that he started talking about the map of Italy with relation to co-host Holly Willoughby's body.

It started off fairly normally - well, as normal as it could be - with him stating: "If your belly button is Rome, I was born in Naples, which is on your side, but I went to school where Vesuvius is, which is more inland."

This is when he really started to veer off-piste.

Gino continued: "So, I can technically say I spent my youth training and playing around your vagina."

Yeah, it probably best to steer away from comments like that, let alone making them on TV.

Whilst Holly and co-host Philip Schofield were left aghast by the remark, Gino didn't seem to get it.

He then said: "There's nothing wrong with that."

Naturally, this didn't pass the viewers of the show by.

They quickly took to social media to express their shock and dismay at D'Acampo's comments.

One person simply wrote: "Oh Gino for goodness sake."

Another said: "Producer just spluttered his coffee all over the monitors."

A third said: "I think Phil's genuinely quite annoyed at Gino. Good."

Still, let's cut the guy some slack. He's appearing on a TV speaking in his second language, and making a tiramisu at the same time as attempting to explain Italian geography.

Well, that excuse isn't going to wash for everyone.

Another person commented: "Poor Holly looked really uncomfortable, unnecessary and not funny."

This Morning airs on ITV every weekday at 10am, and on ITVHub.
