Gogglebox Fans Accuse Stars Of Breaking Coronavirus Restrictions To Appear On Show

Gogglebox fans have accused two of the show's stars of breaking social distancing rules because they're spending time in the same house.
Viewers spotted that sisters Ellie and Izzi had been filming in the same living room. In previous episodes, Ellie had appeared with her boyfriend Nat instead of Izzi, so fans were confused when Izzi returned on last night's programme (17 April).
Despite keeping more than 2m apart on the sofa, the sisters don't appear to live together, so would likely have been visiting each other to record the show.
Government guidance on coronavirus reads: "You should not be visiting family members who do not live in your home."
Why's them sisters from Leeds together on #Gogglebox ??? Other half was there last week social distancing

Taking to Twitter, a fan of the show wrote: "Ellie and Izzy have broken all social distancing rules by seeing each other and I'm sat here having not seen my boyfriend for 4 weeks."
Another added: "Okay so if I can't go and see my parents why are the Gogglebox cast social distancing in the lounges with family and friends they don't live with?!!"
Sorry channel 4 they may be social distancing from each other but they are not following the rules of not visiting other people's homes that's the bigger problem @Channel4 #Gogglebox love the show

All the coronacops slating Ellie and Izzy for being in the same room on Gogglebox is slightly depressing. You're allowed to go to work if you can't do your job from home and adhere to social distancing!

This isn't the first time people on the show have been criticised for not following the rules. Pals Lee Riley and Jenny Newby were also called out for filming together, but they later confirmed they were staying in the same caravan during lockdown.
Well what can we say it's Friday and it's still on #Gogglebox :clap::clap::clap:Jenny and me watching together as we are both on lockdown TOGETHER friends with no benefits I may add :joy::joy:an hour of laughs stay safe stay well #StayHomeSavesLives

A show spokesperson told LADbible: "Most of the families live together but where they don't, they are complying with PHE [Public Health England] social distancing guidelines.
"Gogglebox will only film with families where it's safe to do so. The health and safety of our cast and crew is paramount."
