Gogglebox's Sophie And Pete Are Related To The Chuckle Brothers

Gogglebox fans have clocked that siblings Pete and Sophie Sandiford have two very famous relatives - and let's just say that the revelation has been 'to me', and now it's going 'to you'.

That's right, the duo are related to none other than the Chuckle Brothers, also known as Paul Elliot and his late brother Barry.

I won't lie, my mind is pretty blown.

Paul's actually been dropping pretty major hints on social media over the past couple of years - and when I say 'hints', I mean he's literally been telling us.

Last year, he posted a throwback photo of himself sat on a sofa with Pete and Sophie, captioning it: "This day 2018 with my great niece and nephew @PeteandSophie #Gogglebox."

Later in the year, he posted another, saying he was a 'proud uncle'.

Many fans picked up on the link, with one commenting at the time: "Whaaaaattttt????? My head's just melted!!!!!!!"

Another said: "Aahhhh I see why u 2 are so funny now!"

A third added: "Ahh I didn't know you guy were related! Makes sense now, they're the funniest on Gogglebox!"

When Barry sadly passed away in August 2018, Sophie also posted a photo of herself and Pete with their uncles to pay tribute to him - saying he was 'a truly lovely and funny man to be around'.

She said: "You filled millions of childhoods with laughter and entertainment including mine and Peters," she said.

"You will be sadly missed by many. Rest in peace Uncle Barry. Lots of love from me, to you."

If you've missed Pete and Sophie on Gogglebox, the good news is that they'll be winging their way back to your screens very soon - with a new series of the popular show arriving on Channel 4 on Friday 11 September.
