An audience member on The Graham Norton Show shocked viewers after recalling a friend's wedding when the groom got revenge on his cheating wife in the most savage way possible.

Instead of finishing the relationship when he discovered she was being unfaithful, he decided to go ahead with their extravagant wedding and expose her behaviour to all their family and friends.

But it's the way that he did it that was so clever/creepy - in what shall now be known as the 'red dot game'.

The Irish guest Sean, who is from Donegal, appeared on the Big Red Chair segment of the show back in 2016 - where an audience members reveals their most cringe-worthy secret to Graham and his guests, who can pull a lever to flip the storyteller backwards of the chair if they're not impressed.

Sean explained to Graham and the audience that after the ceremony it was time for speeches, as happens at most wedding receptions.

He told guests that he'd be playing a game, before asking the whole wedding party to stand up.

The guests started giggling when the groom revealed they would be 'playing a game'.

Sean's story shocked Graham Norton viewers.

Then, he told guests to turn over their plates, saying that some of them had a red dot on the bottom of them. He told the people who had a plate with a red dot to stay standing, which meant just eight confused men were left on their feet.

Sean told Graham that it soon became clear what the game was about, when the groom said that anyone left standing had slept with his bride while they were engaged.

The groom allegedly said: "Ladies and gentleman, can you all please look at the eight men left standing.

"They have slept with my wife since we've been engaged. I am now going for an anullment."

He then walked out of the wedding, and we're guessing he didn't look back.

Graham said the story was so good that Sean could walk away from the red chair without being flipped.

The show will be back on New Year's Eve special, with the likes of Motsi Mabuse, Stephen Graham, Tom Hanks and Anthony Joshua.

On the show, Stephen Graham speaks about the time he first met one of his heroes Robert De Niro, as well as Joe Pesci asking him to speak in character as he can't understand his Scouse accent. He then goes on to teach Tom Hanks a bit of Merseyside dialect.

The Graham Norton Show New Year's Eve special airs at 10.20pm on Tuesday 31 December.
