The First Official Photo From The Gavin And Stacey Christmas Special Is Bringing The Festive Joy

After yesterday's amazing teaser clip of the highly anticipated Gavin and Stacey Christmas special, we now also have a first official photo, and you know what? I am absolutely here for it.

In the instantly-iconic snap, we see our key cast sat in the pub together during the festive season - two small tables shoved together to accommodate the group, each one piled high with empty pint glasses.

There's tinsel, there's a tree, there's someone's Christmas shopping in a bag on the floor. The lads are rocking their smart shirts, while Stacey's in heels and Gwen and Pam have got their posh tops on. Nessa's wearing something velvet and daring - classic.

We don't know where the pub is, but judging by the fact that the extended Welsh family are there (hiya Gwen, Bryn, Jason and Nessa!), it could be somewhere in or near Barry.

In short, it's a piece of modern art - a tapestry of all our hopes and expectations in the lead-up to the one-off special this December.

Many fans have been sharing the photo online, with one writing: "IT'S LIKE THEY WERE NEVER AWAY #ohmychrist #GAVINANDSTACEY #exciting."

Another tweeted: "IT REALLY IS CHRISTMAS!"

A third said: "Words can't even begin to explain just how excited I am for this. #GAVINANDSTACEY."

The Gavin and Stacey reunion was announced back in May, when co-creator James Corden shared a photo of the script.

Filming then started in July, but it wasn't until yesterday that we were finally given a sneak peek at the forthcoming episode, which airs on Christmas Day.

The clip shows Uncle Bryn making the Christmas dinner for the whole family, and it doesn't seem like he's coping well with the stress.

He says: "Gwen, Jason, anyone! The table should have been set 37 minutes ago and the plates are still at Stacey's!"

Poor Bryn then drops some of the food, prompting Stacey and Nessa to rush in.

Bryn looks up from the kitchen floor, and calmly asks his niece: "Stacey, will you kindly inform everyone that dinner will be ever so slightly delayed?"

Good to see nothing's changed, eh?
