The trailer has been released for Home Alone reboot Home Sweet Home Alone. You can watch it here:

The adventure comedy starring Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Archie Yates, Aisling Bea and Kenan Thompson to name a few, will be released on 12 November 2021 exclusively on Disney+.

We will see Yates (Jojo Rabbit) take on the role of Max Mercer who - believe it or not - gets left behind while his family jet off to Japan for their holiday.

It is then up to Max to protect his family home from a couple (Kemper and Delaney) who are attempting to steal a priceless heirloom.

Of course, in a bid to fight the bad guys, Max will have a 'Battle Plan' which leaves the pair in hot water.

The film seems to give off a few nods towards the Home Alone franchise with one scene showing that the police officer who receives a call about 'suspicious people' is called 'McCallister'.

If that isn't coincidental enough - when you squint you'll realise it's actually Buzz McCallister from the OG Home Alone played by Devin Ratray.

It's Buzz.

Macauley Culkin is also said to be making a cameo appearance although we can't see him in the trailer.

Fans are clearly excited about the reboot, with one taking to Twitter writing: "No. But... OMG YESSSSSS. Looks fantastic and I loveeeeeee that cast (who's Pete Holmes I hear you ask). YAAAAAAAAS. Gonna watch the f*** out of this. Was the cop Buzz????"

Answering their own question, they added: "That's so f*****g clever that Buzz is the cop. My god."

A second said: "I'd usually be dubious about such a thing but this cast is [100 emoji]."

But others aren't quite as sure, with one commenting: "I'm on the fence on Home Sweet Home Alone. What made Home Alone great was the unexpected comedy in places and the very serious moments."

Another wrote: "Why, can't they just let classics stay classics?" to which someone pointed out: "They are still classics tho".

"This is what you get when you order Home Alone DVD from Wish," wrote someone else.

You can watch Home Sweet Home Alone on Disney+ from 12 November.
