Viewers have been absolutely obsessed with the BBC Three series Normal People - and what better way to live out your fandom than by holidaying in the show's picturesque Italian house, via Airbnb?

The show tracks a young Irish couple who meet as teenagers and it paints a beautiful, realistic and interesting portrayal of a relationship in the modern era.

Viewers have lapped up the main characters, Connell (played by Paul Mescal) and Marianne (portrayed by Daisy Edgar-Jone) as they go from high school lovers to adults navigating the torrid world of a difficult bond.

In one part of the series, the couple travel to Marianne's holiday home in Italy - and it's the definition of perfect.

Set against the backdrop of a stunning Italian countryside, the villa boasts a large lawn, beautiful rooms and a huge pool. It looks too good to be real.

However, eagle-eyed fans have now discovered that the property is listed on Airbnb and you can stay in one of the rooms (albeit when lockdown, self-isolation rules and borders reopen).

Nestled in the Sant'Oreste area in Lazio, the holiday home is located less than 50km from the heart of Rome and looks just as amazing as it does on Normal People.

The booking can accomodate up to six people at one time, with four beds, two bedrooms and one bathroom. One night will set you back €47 (£41/AUD$78), which includes a cleaning fee - however, that price is cut by 30 percent if you book for a week.

So, when restrictions roll back, you can only imagine this place will be busy.

Since the show landed last month, viewers at home have been watching in their droves, with many praising its evocative mix of love, lust and heartbreak.

One person tweeted: "I don't know what it is about Normal People, but I read the book in one sitting and I've just watched the entire TV series in a day. It's so addictive to me."

Another said: "Normal People is so addictive. I love how slow and tender it feels even on the screen - it's making me relive all the teenage/uni feels."

It sounds like others may take a while to get over their first viewing, with one person saying it had 'ruptured' their soul.

Someone else added: "Have an emotional hangover from Normal People. My little heart."

If you think you can handle the will-they-won't-they drama as Marianne and Connell fluctuate between love and friendship, you can watch Normal People on BBC iPlayer or Stan now.
