Jackass star Sean McInerney broke down in tears as he recounted his shark attack. You can watch the video here:

McInerney - who was revealed as a new member of the show back in June - was performing a dangerous stunt which isn't too much of a surprise given his job.

McInerney - better known as Poopies - was attempting a wakeboard jump over shark-infested waters for a collaboration between Jackass and the Discovery Channel. Sounds like an extremely OTT initiation to me...

Recalling the 'gnarliest incident in Jackass history' and the moment he thought he was going to die, Poopies said: "So there's like 10 sharks around me, I was trying to swim out."

Getting visibly emotional, he added: "And... I couldn't. I couldn't swim out, dude. I knew I got bit and when I got bit I thought I was going to get attacked by like six more sharks."

He went on to say it was the 'scariest thing in his life' and continued to explain: "I kind of lifted it up and when I lifted it up it freaking fell over and that's when I knew I was in trouble.

"And that's when I knew I was probably going to die, right now. But luckily I didn't. I just got bit once.

"I had the best safety I think I ever could have asked for. Right when I got bit the safety medic jumped on me and he pretty much sacrificed his own life for my life."

Poopies was taken away by medics and when he got to hospital he said it was the most 'f***** up time' of his whole life.

He remembered: "They unwrapped this towel and all of a sudden everything starts squirting everywhere - f****** arteries everywhere."

Poopies had surgery to completely reattached two 'completely severed arteries' and all of his severed tendons. But, in case you were worrying, don't. His hand looks 'great' - according to Steve-O.

Speaking about the incident, Jackass OG Steve-O hilariously explained: "I don't think there's ever been a scarier moment when we were filming." Bare in mind someone's broken their back before.

He added: "As heavy as it was, pretty much right away I just thought 'this footage has to come out, Poopies needs the glory'."

A clip from Steve-O to his pal was then shown where he said: "Yo Poopies, I know you're probably having a really rough time but I want you to know that if you make a full recovery and this footage comes out - this will be the best thing that ever happened to you in your life."

Classic Steve-O.
