I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star James Haskell is acting moody with his campmates because he's 'starving', his wife has said.

In defence of her husband, who has been accused of being a grump on social media, Chloe Madeley took to Instagram where she shared a snap of James in camp with the caption: "Looking at this face breaks my heart. Why's he so aggy? Because he's starving. Hungry = angry... hence hangry."

I hear you, pal.

Chloe, daughter of telly favourites Richard and Judy, was asked on Instagram: "James seems to be getting snappy. Is this due to lack of food? (And missing you)." The fitness expert responded: "The poor guy is in a right old grump.

"His BMR (basic metabolic rate) is around 2500 cals his TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) is around 4000 cals so to go down to 800 maybe 1200 with stars, is clearly taking its toll on him."

James, who was initially a favourite to be crowned Jungle King, has since been called out for losing his temper with his fellow campmates.

On last night's show James branded the camp a 'circus of stupidity'.

While trying to find out who wanted to take part in the Dingo Dollar Challenge, Kate Garraway had called for a little bit of time while people thought over their decision, but James wasn't there for that.

He piped up: "Kate, there's nothing to think about. I don't understand what the stress is, it's simple A, stick your hand up in the air or B stick your hand up in the air, majority wins, I don't get it."

Later on he talked about the situation to Andrew Maxwell, saying: "It irritates the p*** out of me because it's that simple. Explain the question, answer the question A or B, it's a circus of stupidity.

"I can't do it, I'm too intelligent and too switched on, just put your hands right up, let someone count them, right the majority win, shut up and lets move on."

Andrew then asked if 'edgy' James was OK, to which the former England rugby star said: "It's just that unnecessary debate when people don't listen. I don't have to listen to people's incessant stupidity going round, I can't abide over talkers and dawdlers."

Someone give the fella a sandwich.
