Jim Carrey Is Encouraging Everyone To Grow Beards While They Self-Isolate

Hey, what else have you got on?

Hollywood actor Jim Carrey, known for his off-the-wall acting style and - let's face it - slightly bizarre attitude to life, has now taken to offering up advice for what people should do during the long days and weeks of self-isolation.

He reckons that - if you can - you should be looking into improving your facial furniture.

Yep, he wants us all to grow quarantine beards.

Leading by example, he's also going to be documenting his own journey. The other day, he shared a photograph of himself with a clean shaven face and wrote: "Day 1. I'm growing a beard until we all go back to work.

"I'll post reg pics so you can marvel at the miracle of my meaningless transformation. Normally, I try to stay on the cutting edge of entertainment.

"Now I shall conquer the uncutting edge. Please join me."

Very good, 'the uncutting edge'.

So far, his original tweet has been liked 171,000 times, and retweeted more than 11,000 times. It looks as if plenty of people are going to get on board.

He's even attracted a few celebrity participants, as well. The Goldbergs and Party of Five actor Niko Goldberg has also shared the beginning of his journey, although he looks as if he'll have some serious work to do.

Disney poster boy Noah Centineo is also getting stuck in - he replied to Jim Carrey's call to action showing a picture of his own furry chin.

One person who might have got the wrong end of the stick, but is nonetheless a welcome addition is Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams.

She responded to Carrey saying that she is 'gonna do this with my armpits'.

Are ya, Arya? Arya really?

Anyway, Carrey is no stranger to growing out a bit of facial fuzz. In fact, in recent years he's been fairly often spotted sporting a more hirsute style.

Most recently, he was spotted with a gigantic - and frankly unnerving - moustache as Doctor Robotnik in the Sonic The Hedgehog movie.

That was a pretty decent success, by the way. It became the highest grossing video game movie in the US a few weeks ago, usurping Ryan Reynolds' Detective Pikachu in the process.

Anyway, we'll have to keep our eyes peeled to find out how Carrey - and the rest of the intrepid hair-growers - will get on, but we've got nothing else on just now, right?

BRB, just got to check on some paint drying.
