John Boyega Screams 'I Won A Golden Globe' Wearing Jogging Pants And Shirt

The 28-year-old actor, who was collecting an award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series for his role in BBC mini-series Small Axe, made sure he looked every bit the professional with his attire on top, but remained comfortable on the bottom.

Well, there have to be some benefits to calling in virtually to one of the world's most prestigious awards ceremonies, right?

After his win, he went onto an Instagram Live and showed his delight and surprise to his fans, as well as thanking them for their support.

Unfortunately, he also pointed out he was celebrating his win - one of the biggest accolades of his career - while home alone.

However, that didn't stop him enjoying the moment, shouting 'I won a Golden Globe!' at the top of his voice in his home.

In his acceptance speech, he also addressed his unusual choice of attire, delivering some information that pretty much sums up all of our experiences with remote working at the same time.

As his award was announced, Boyega said: "What? Do I just talk automatically?

"You know what, the wifi is bad, so let me just say what I've got to say."

You know what, we can all sympathise with that, John.

He then confessed that he was wearing his tracksuit bottoms, because he didn't expect to have the camera on him.

Boyega added: "I'm so shocked. I thought it was going to be one of those nights where you do this whole shindig, go to your bed and just chill.

"I'm in Balenciagas guys, I've got tracksuit bottoms on the bottom and I'm comfortable, but this is exciting."

He then lifted up his leg to prove the point.

Moving onto his actual speech, he continued: "I want to thank you all for this amazing opportunity. Thank you to Steve McQueen for this role... and thank you Leroy Logan [the former police superintendent Boyega plays in Small Axe] for your work and for what you have done for young people in the UK.

"London, stand up. I don't even know what to say, thank you guys."

Boyega won the award against a field that included Brendan Gleeson - from The Comedy Rule -Dan Levy of Schitt's Creek, Jim Parsons, who starred in Hollywood, and Donald Sutherland of The Undoing.
