Keanu Reeves reinforced his status as the world's most normal film star by tucking into an ice cream by himself in Northern California, the location where he could be filming the next instalment of the Matrix franchise.
The actor, famous for his roles in the Bill & Ted movies, was pictured sitting alone outside a Baskin-Robbins outlet in Alameda, in the Greater San Francisco area.
He then posed in his usual nonchalant style for a picture alongside a clearly delighted fan.

According to local media, the 55-year-old casually wandered into the store and grabbed a double scoop cone of ice cream for himself, which - if it were anyone else - would be completely normal.
However, when you factor in that he's a massively popular and recognisable Hollywood star, you'd probably expect him to be trailed everywhere he goes by an entourage of staff and assorted hangers-on.
One of the ice cream parlour employees told TV station KVTU that the staff member who sold Keanu the sweet treat 'freaked out after he served him - he didn't know how to act'.

After picking up his dessert, Reeves then reportedly left a large tip and stepped outside, where he was quickly collared by Twitter user @yahoska___ eating his ice cream.
As for the reason he's there in the first place, it is thought that he's filming the fourth edition of the highly popular Matrix films.
Filming was set to begin in early 2020, so we can only assume that he's doing that now.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Reeves recently shared his excitement about the forthcoming project.
He said: "It's very ambitious. As it should be!"
Well, given that the groundbreaking first film of the series changed the way that everyone looked at visual effects and broke Reeves' name into the world of blockbuster cinema, he's got every right to be excited.

He'll return alongside fellow Matrix veteran Carrie-Anne Moss, and writer and director Lana Wachowski.
Wachowski was also behind the camera for the first three films with her sister Lilly.
According to Variety, Lana released a statement that said: "Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now. I'm very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends,"

Let's hope that they can live up to the legacy of the first three.
The as-yet-untitled Matrix 4 project is slated for release on 21 May 2021.
