The trailer for a new Icelandic film has set people online talking - and seriously creeped most of them out - because it features a half-lamb, half-baby. Seriously, you can check it out in trailer below.

It's called Lamb and looks like it's going to be seriously unnerving.

Lamb comes from independent film company A24, who are known for a number of critically-acclaimed horror films, notably Midsommar, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and The Lighthouse.

They also made the Safdie Brothers hit Uncut Gems, starring Adam Sandler.

The film stars Noomi Rapace, Hilmir Snær Guðnason, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson and Ingvar Sigurðsson, and tells the story of a childless couple from the Icelandic countryside who make a shocking discovery in their barn.

It's not going to take an expert to discover what that discovery is.

The film isn't out until October 8, but it has debuted at Cannes Film Festival and the critics have been quite tight-lipped about the plot.

Those who have seen it suggest that it might be quite easy to spoil, and we wouldn't want that now, would we?

However, it has been referred to as 'mesmerizing', 'bizarre', and 'bracingly original'.

It definitely sounds worth a watch though, right?

Director Valdimar Jóhannsson also wrote the script alongside an Icelandic poet called Sjón.

Speaking about joining the project back in 2019, Rapace said: "A script like this is rare and I directly felt that I had to do it. I've never done anything like this before and I can't wait to start filming and go back to my roots in Iceland."

Producers Hrönn Kristinsdóttir and Sara Nassim added: "We're excited to see this visual poem that Sjón and Valdimar have created come to life.

"Having Noomi on board, who speaks Icelandic and truly understands the story, the culture and María's character, is incredibly valuable for the film."

After seeing the trailer, one person commented: "Oh, so that Lamb trailer..."

Another wrote: "I watched the trailer at first I was like 'awwww cute little lamb!!' and then finished the trailer."

A third wrote: "I just watched the Lamb trailer from @A24 and I already want to go lie down for the day."

That's a pretty common theme, to be honest. Most of the people who've seen it can't wait to watch the whole thing, but it's definitely going to be a disturbing experience.
