Line of Duty fans are going wild following the first 'bent coppers' of the season from Superintendent Ted Hastings.

AC-12 returned to our screens tonight (Sunday 28 March) for the second episode of series six, and Hastings made it abundantly clear what it's all about for the anti-corruption unit - bent coppers.

The line has undoubtedly become the most popular Line of Duty line down the seasons, and fans didn't have to wait too long for its first utterance this time around, prompting jubilant scenes on social media:

One person wrote: "The gaffer said the words 'bent coppers'. *Now* we are cooking with gas."

Another said: "The nation roared as one when Ted said bent coppers."

A third added: "Been waiting for that line - only one thing I'm interested in, bent coppers. I cheered."

Roll on more bent copper chasing next week.
