Homes Under the Hammer legend Martin Roberts has responded after he found a compilation clip of himself playing an invisible piano while presenting went viral.

In case you missed it, a few weeks back someone on Twitter shared a clip featuring numerous interviews between Martin and guests on the show - in each segment when Martin asks: "Why did you want to buy this place?" he moves his hands up and down... or plays an invisible piano, depending on who you ask.

After the original clip was posted, radio DJ Greg James tweeted to ask someone to add the piano sounds and writer Rhodri Marsden was happy to step up.

Sharing the clip with the added in sound effects, Marsden wrote: "I couldn't not do it. (i.e. add piano.)" and the funny post has since gone viral, racking up more than 40,000 likes and 11,400 retweets.

Posting on the clip someone said: "This sort of thing is exactly why the Internet was invented."

Someone else wrote: "This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Bravo."

While a third chipped in: "I'm so pleased you added the piano! Video without was funny, but even better now."

Given the fact it's been shared so far and wide, it was only a matter of time before it came to the attention of Martin and, fair play, he's absolutely delighted with it.

Speaking about the clip, Martin told Entertainment News: "It's awesome. I wet myself - I honestly thought it was so funny when I saw it.

"I've done 3,000 interviews so in the 3,000 interviews I'm bound to have done something again and again and again - so I'm quite happy that that was the thing they picked up on.

"I will enjoy my 15 minutes of fame, before I'm usurped by a trombone playing kitten.

"It's very sweet, I just thought, 'someone has gone through a lot of trouble there'. It made me laugh and you know what, right now we all need a laugh."
