When Money Heist originally dropped on Netflix fans were quick to compare it to Prison Break but now it seems to have taken over - if IMDb is anything to go by.

The ratings site, which prides itself on being the 'world's most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content', shows that Money Heist has 8.5 stars out of 10 while Prison Break has 8.3.

There might not be much in it, but there's definitely a favourite. Rotten Tomatoes also holds Money Heist (named La Casa De Papel in the original Spanish) higher with an average rating of 91 percent, while Prison Break is on 60 percent.

Some people definitely don't agree with the scores and think Prison Break is clearly better.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "U cannot compare these two. MONEY HEIST its just a baby," while another added: "High school kids for Money Heist, real men for Prison Break."

Someone else commented: "The mere fact that we have to put these two in a faceoff is so disrespectful to Prison Break. La Casa De Papel will never match Prison Break."

Created by Álex Pina, Money Heist tracks a crew of eight criminals as they try to break into the Royal Mint of Spain.

The immensely popular show is the biggest non-English language show on Netflix and has won a whole heap of awards, including the Best Drama gong at the International Emmy Awards and Best Drama at the Premios Fénix, which is a similarly big-time Spanish language TV awards ceremony.

The fourth series dropped on Netflix on 3 April and if you've already finished it don't worry because the creator says he has plenty of ideas for spin-offs.

Speaking to The Oprah Magazine, Álex Pina said: "We do have many possibilities for some spin-offs, yes, and I think that's thanks to the strong and powerful identities of the characters.

"We've always looked for characters to have a very complex, layered design. So I think almost every character of Money Heist has a duality that we would like to see in a spin-off. We could watch any of them in other contexts."
