You know when you're hungover or it's raining outside and you just want to curl up on the couch and binge on every Harry Potter movie there is?

It's an understandable feeling because when you've got nothing to do and a headache to soothe, what better way to spend your time than indulge in the ups and downs of The Boy Who Lived?

Well, if you're in Australia then you can forget about that dream.

Netflix Australia and New Zealand has made the heartbreaking revelation that all the main Harry Potter films have been deleted from their network.

The news was announced in a tweet, where the streaming service wrote: "I solemnly swear that I'm sorry for not letting you know that Harry Potter was leaving @NetflixANZ.

"Licensing fantastic movies is a beast and we wish we could keep them all. (Especially Azkaban, the best one, don't @ me)."

Look, we're not angry, just disappointed. (Okay, maybe a little angry)

There are a bunch of reasons why Netflix loses or can't attain licensing for films or TV shows and sadly we haven't been given a clue why this decision was made.

Warner Bros.

It's not the only series that has been deleted since the new year, with Life Hacker reporting that Netflix has also dumped the likes of Spartacus, American Horror Story and Happy Death Day.

It has certainly left loads of Hogwarts fans upset on social media.

One user wrote: "Damn. I only just started the books for the first time. Was hoping to see at least a couple of the movies."

Another added: "That's a pity....halfway through the books and watching the movies with my girl."

There's no word on when we could potentially get to see the movies on Netflix Australia again but in the meantime we'll just have to entertain ourselves with the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them series - which miraculously didn't get deleted.

Hopefully, it's just a short time because hangovers won't be the same without Harry saving the day.
