The three-part series tackles one of the most disturbing crimes of the internet age, centring on Luka Magnotta, the Canadian man who went viral for all the wrong reasons after posting a video of him killing two kittens - a controversy that would only get worse.
Later, Magnotta moved on to murder and dismember Chinese student Jun Lin, who he met on a gay Internet dating site. He videoed the crime and posted the footage on the internet.
Magnotta then packaged up Lin's body parts and sent them to various schools and politicians in his native Vancouver.
He was later convicted for the brutal murder in 2012, having eventually been arrested at an internet café in Berlin, while reportedly looking at an Interpol photograph of himself.

The trailer for the new documentary says: "In the seedy underbelly of the internet, there's an unwritten rule - rule zero: don't f*** with cats."
This gripping new doc follows a group of amateur detectives from around the world who set out to find Magnotta and bring him to justice after the initial video of him killing the pair of cats was shared online in 2010.
The documentary's official synopsis reads: "When a video is posted online of a mysterious man killing two kittens, internet users across the world leap into action to find the perpetrator. Encouraged by the attention he's receiving, the killer continues posting ever more disturbing videos, eventually crossing into murder.

"From the producers of The Imposter and Silk Road, Don't F*** With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer only on Netflix December 18th."
Executive produced by Dimitri Doganis and Adam Hawkins for Raw, and produced by Felicity Morris, the documentary comes from director Mark Lewis (Silk Road: Drugs, Death And The Dark Web).
Speaking to Deadline about the bizarre case, director Mark Lewis said: "What is so mind-blowing for me about this documentary series is that it plays out like a real thriller, with twists and turns that no-one will see coming, a cast of internet heroes whose resourcefulness will have you cheering from the sidelines, and a murderer whose true identity will have you gasping when he is finally unmasked."
