It can be easy to feel lonely as we practice social distancing to limit the spread of coronavirus - but thankfully help is at hand.
Netflix Party is a new Chrome browser extension that allows you to watch your favourite Netflix shows along with your friends. What's more, it's completely free.
It syncs the movie or TV show so you're all watching in tandem and don't lag behind each other when you take bathroom breaks. Arguably the best bit is a chat function alongside the video player to share your spicy hot takes as the programme airs.

Whether you're rewatching Friends, dipping your toe into Studio Ghibli's back catalogue or jumping out of your skin watching A Quiet Place, viewing experiences are always better when shared.
Since we may no longer be able to sit through a movie with friends and family in-person, this is the next best thing.
The description on Netflix Party's website reads: "Netflix Party is a new way to watch Netflix with your friends online. Netflix Party synchronises video playback and adds group chat to your favourite Netflix shows.

To start a Netflix Party viewing sesh, you just need to start watching something on Netflix and select the 'NP' icon next to the web address bar on your browser.
Then select 'Start Party', which will create a URL which you can share with your friends to invite them to the long-distance movie night.
You friends then just need to click the link you sent them, which will redirect them to the Netflix show you're watching. If they then press the 'NP' icon on their browser, they'll be added to the hangout.
