Malignant, the new horror film from the creator of The Conjuring franchise, looks like it's set to be as terrifying as his previous efforts, with a second trailer showing actor Annabelle Wallis haunted by the mysterious figure known only as Gabriel. Watch below:
The movie comes from the mind of Australian horror innovator James Wan, who not only came up with the Conjuring universe, but also co-created the hugely popular Saw and Insidious franchises.

More recently, Wan also directed Furious 7 and the DC Extended Universe flick Aquaman, but Malignant marks his reunion with more 'grisly' material.
A synopsis from Warner Bros says: "Malignant is the latest creation from Conjuring universe architect James Wan (Aquaman, Furious 7). The film marks director Wan's return to his roots with this new original horror thriller.
"In the film, Madison is paralysed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.

"Malignant stars Annabelle Wallis (Annabelle, The Mummy), Maddie Hasson (YouTube's Impulse, TV's Mr. Mercedes), George Young (TV's Containment), Michole Briana White (TV's Black Mafia Family, Dead to Me), Jacqueline McKenzie (Palm Beach, TV's Reckoning), Jake Abel (TV's Supernatural, the Percy Jackson films) and Ingrid Bisu (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun).
"Wan (Aquaman, Furious 7) directed from a screenplay by Akela Cooper (M3GAN, upcoming The Nun 2), story by Wan & Ingrid Bisu and Cooper."
For the film, Wan was joined by frequent collaborators including director of photography Don Burgess, editor Kirk Morri (Aquaman, The Conjuring 2), production designer Desma Murphy (art director, Aquaman, Furious 7), costume designer Lisa Norcia (Insidious: The Last Key) and composer Joseph Bishara, who created the score for all seven Conjuring films, among many others.
Wan explains in the new trailer: "I wanted to do something that was a bit different, but yet hark back to my roots.

"You've got to take chances - if you don't, you end up making the same old thing again and again and again.
"I think audiences are starved for something that's new and different."
And it seems like viewers are already up for it, with many saying it looks 'scary as f***'.
