New Netflix series Locke and Key has proven to be such an instant hit with fans that they're already begging for a second season.

The show only premiered on Netflix last week, but it seems most of you have already binged your way through it in no time.

A TV adaptation of the best-selling comic book series by Joe Hill (who just so happens to be Stephen King's son) and Gabriel Rodriguez for IDW Comics, Locke and Key comes from the folk behind The Haunting of Hill House.

It follows a family in the wake of their father's mysterious death, and stars Darby Stanchfield (Scandal) as Nina Locke, Jackson Robert Scott (IT and IT 2) as Bode Locke, Connor Jessup (American Crime) as Tyler Locke, Emilia Jones (Horrible Histories) as Kinsey Locke and Bill Heck (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) as Rendell Locke.

It's become such a firm favourite since dropping on Netflix on 7 February, that many of you are already crying out for a second season.

One person tweeted: "It's 5.30am and I've spent the whole night binge watching Locke and Key on Netflix. I cannot believe the ending I'm literally shook to my core rn I NEED SEASON 2 ASAP PLZ."

Another said: "I finished watching Locke and Key last night on Netflix and I recommend you watch it I loved it and I'm shook and I want a season 2 already."

A third wrote: "Really need season 2 of Locke and Key like I can't stop thinking about how I binged that show so fast but it's sooo good."

If you haven't joined the hype yet, you've got 10 episodes waiting for you over on Netflix.

The show's synopsis reads: "After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father's death.

"As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens - and will stop at nothing to steal them.

"From Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House), the series is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakeable bonds that define family."

A second series hasn't been greenlit by Netflix just yet, but with such a strong response to the first season, surely it's only matter of time? As ever, we'll keep you posted as and when we know.
