Love Island's Ollie Williams has quit the ITV show just three days in after reportedly realising he's still in love with his ex-girlfriend.

A Love Island spokesperson told LADbible: "Ollie has made the decision to leave the Love Island villa."

Ollie said it wouldn't be fair on Paige Turley who he was coupled up with.

Explaining his reasons for leaving, Ollie says in the Beach Hut: "I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else... I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings.

"At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it's about finding love. If I carried on anything with Paige, or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn't be fair on them."

The 23-year-old will leave the African villa to find that a petition has been set up to get him kicked off the show, after pictures emerged that show him to be involved in hunting animals.

The petition was set up over the weekend.

A change.org appeal, titled 'Remove Ollie Williams from Winter Love Island for Trophy Hunting', has reached over 36,000 signatures.

It was set up by someone called 'Amey C', who wrote: "Ollie Williams who is due to enter Winter Love Island has been exposed as a bloodthirsty big trophy hunter.

"He has proudly posed with an array of dead endangered animals including warthog and water buffalos among other animals he killed in Africa in order to promote his hunting business, Cornish Sporting Agency.

"The disgusting photos were posted on an Instagram account that was deleted before it was announced that Ollie would be one of the contestants joining the winter series of Love Island in South Africa.

"ITV allowing him to be on the show is implying that they are okay with his sick and sadistic hobby.

"Ollie Williams should not be allowed to take part or compete in the Love Island series and he should not be allowed on a such a public platform."

Ollie appeared on the ITV show when it launched on Monday.

As well as this appeal being set up, Ofcom has told LADbible that it has received 467 complaints relating to Ollie across the two episodes that have been aired.

Another villa contestant to hit the headlines is Paige Turley (with whom Ollie was coupled) after it was revealed she is the ex-girlfriend of singer Lewis Capaldi.

The pop star said he had no idea she was going in, but insisted that he'll be cheering her on regardless.

When Turley went into the South African villa at the weekend, she revealed that 23-year-old Capaldi was one of her ex-boyfriends, with reports claiming that 'Someone You Loved' was actually about her.

She also apologised for 'being a b****' to the Scottish singer, though didn't divulge any specifics.

Now Capaldi has had his say, and true to form he's been a pretty good sport about it all.

Speaking on New Zealand radio show The Edge, he joked that Turley owed him a cut of any winnings, saying that his success was partly behind her being selected for the show.

He said: "The prize is like £50,000 and I'll be like, 'Well, listen, they asked you to go on it, right, I'm not saying I'm the reason but also... Slide me two grand.'"
