Paul Chuckle has called on the BBC to play every episode of ChuckleVision in a bid to keep everyone entertained during the coronavirus lockdown.

Paul, whose real name is Paul Elliott, took to Twitter to make the suggestion as he recovers from coronavirus, which he started suffering with last month.

Replying to the comment while referencing the Chuckles' most famous catchphrase, one person said: "Dear BBC, brighten up our isolation. Make it happen. Over to you, to me, to you!"

Another added: "C'mon @BBCOne you know it's at times like this the country needs cheering up, and #ChuckleVision is THE best so what are you waiting for?"

A third person commented: "What a brilliant idea, I miss ChuckleVision so much - would love to watch it again from the start."

The 72-year-old, who starred in the much-loved kids' TV show with his late brother Barry, has been trying to lift spirits in other ways as well.

He's been filming himself enjoying his own little garden raves, and then relaxing on a sun lounger with a bevvy in his hand, telling his Twitter followers: "Are you ready for happy hour? Get 'em out, why not? The sun's out." What a LAD.

As you can imagine fans were delighted to see Paul looking well, with one commenting: "Paul, you are brilliant. Hope you are keeping well."

Another claimed his dance moves were 'the best thing you'll see all years'.

When he announced his coronavirus diagnosis, the ChuckleVision star shared an update on his Twitter page, telling fans: "Hi guys, just checking in to let you know I'm still around.

"I have been laid up with Covid-19 for a good few days, just mild, but it was there and it's not nice, I promise you, so please, please stay inside.

"We're all going stir-crazy, we know that, but please stay inside and take the pressure off the NHS, Marie Curie, etc, etc. Please, please, stay in guys and enjoy as best you can."

Let's all bring some positivity, support and fun to anyone who might find themselves in isolation as a result of the coronavirus spread. Need some entertainment? Join Isolation Nation: https://www.facebook.com/groups/coronasupport/
