Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti have admitted they struggling while filming some of the sex scenes in the latest season of You.

The pair, who play serial killers Joe and Love Quinn-Goldberg in the hit show, worked together on season two of You but say things felt a bit different when it came to filming for the third season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Pedretti said: "This is not a show where you can be like, 'nobody's going to kiss, it'll be fine', so it took months to figure out how to do it safely.

"I felt very lucky that they start off their relationship at odds with each other, navigating the awkwardness of being new parents because it felt strange to be physically intimate very early on - even though we're supposed to be a married couple."

Pedretti went on to explain that despite having a good rapport with her co-star, they didn't immediately go back to normal once filming started.

She said: "It's weird. We have a rapport. We played a couple before, but it didn't just immediately come back after being in a global pandemic."

Badgley agreed, adding: "It's really true, the implications of all that stuff was really felt."

He went on to reveal the show's writers had to think on their feet and adapt scripts to work around the pandemic and its restrictions.

Badgley explained: "There were significant rewriters throughout the whole season to try and negotiate around these scenes that would require a lot of people."

Fans of the show will be delighted to learn that Netflix has snapped up the show for a fourth season.

Netflix made the announcement with a video on YouTube that featured numerous flashbacks from previous seasons, with Joe's voice over the top saying things like 'I would do anything for you' and 'I just want to be good enough for you'.

The video then ends with the revelation that there will be a season four. Unfortunately, as yet, we've got no details on when filming kicks off.
