Jason Momoa's new Netflix movie Sweet Girl has left viewers feeling less than impressed. You can a trailer for the movie here:

The movie landed on the streaming service last week and saw Momoa in the role of Ray Cooper - a widow determined to seek justice for those he believes are responsible for the death of his wife while also protecting his young daughter Rachel (played by Isabela Merced).

A synopsis on Netflix reads: "He lost the love of his life to a pharmaceutical company's greed.

"Now his daughter is without a mother and he's without justice. For now."

But the action-packed movie has left some viewers pretty disappointed with one person taking to social media to say: "Really disappointed with the film. 2/10"

Another added: "The new Netflix movie Sweet Girl with Jason Momoa is so bad it hurts. Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time."

While a third wrote: "I love Jason Momoa but this was rubbish."

Meanwhile, over on Rotten Tomatoes, it has just 15 percent on the Tomatometer - based on 47 reviews.

It's Rotten Tomato Audience rating is 44 percent - based on more than 250 ratings; while IMDB has it at 5.5 based on 15,000 reviews.

It's critical reviews haven't been much better, either.

Guardian film critic Benjamin Lee branded it a 'non-starter' and 'utterly nonsensical' giving it just two stars out of five.

While Matt Zoller Seitz from rogerebert.com gave a slightly higher two-and-a-half stars, writing: "Sweet Girl is too long and disorganized, and often just too much, for its own good. It seems to want to be five, possibly six landmark 1990s and early aughts blockbusters at once."

However, despite its critics, the movie has proved to be a huge success on Netflix - taking top spot in several countries.

And it's also fair to say not everyone hated it, with some viewers praising the movie's twist and others saying the flick left them in tears.

On Twitter one person said: "Sweet Girl on Netflix was an emotional roller coaster and action packed. 10/10 would recommend."

Another wrote: "Y'all omg Sweet Girl on Netflix was SO GOOD! Definitely recommend you watch it!"

If you fancy making your own mind up, Sweet Girl is available to stream on Netflix right now.
