People Think Colin Farrell Looks Like Richard Kind In The Batman Trailer

You have to admit, Farrell does look a lot like the Curb Your Enthusiasm actor

After a trailer release saw fans shocked by Colin Farrell's look for The Batman, in which he plays the Penguin, some eagle-eyed internet observers have posited the idea that they could have saved a lot of money in costume and wardrobe by just hiring another actor, Richard Kind.

For anyone who knows about Richard Kind, you'd have to admit that Farrell's get-up does make him look quite a bit like him.

Maybe Kind auditioned for the role, but is just more suited to comedy than gritty DCEU superhero movies?

In case you're not aware, Kind was one of the stars of Larry David's comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm, as well as shows like Mad About You and Spin City.

He's also more famous perhaps for appearing in loads of Pixar animated films such as A Bug's Life, Toy Story 3, Inside Out, and Cars.

However, it does look as if they could have just saved some cash and hired him for this part. After all, Colin Farrell is unrecognisable for the part, and Kind would have just looked exactly like him without the cost.

Hell, they could have just cast Danny DeVito again for this observer's money. That would have been a turn up for the books.

Anyway, it seems as if fans of both Kind and Batman are in unison with thinking that Farrell looks a hell of a lot like him in this strange make-up.

One person wrote: " Really thought this was Richard Kind in the BATMAN trailer but it's Colin Farrell in Penguin makeup"

Another said: "No lie. I thought Colin Farrell was Richard Kind."

A third Twitter user commented: "Why put Colin Farrell in expensive prosthetics when you could just cast Richard Kind?"

Either way, the new trailer is here and shows Robert Pattison donning the famous black cowl for his first outing as Bruce Wayne.

Farrell has previously spoken about how his character - who is actually called Oswald Cobblepot - has some 'tasty' scenes to come in the flick.

He told GMA News: "I had only started it and I can't wait to get back. The creation of it, the aesthetic of the character, has been fun and I really am so excited to get back and explore it.

"And I haven't got that much to do. I have a certain amount in the film. I am not all over it by any means. But there are a couple of some tasty scenes I have in it and my creation and I can't wait to get back."

"Yeah, I totally feel like it is something that I have not had the opportunity to explore before. It feels original and fun. But I am only at the start of the journey so I can't wait to get back and really get into it."

The Batman will hit cinemas in October next year.
