If you fancy yourself as a bit of a brain box then you might be pleased to learn that applications have opened for BBC's Pointless.

Yep, if you reckon you've got what it takes then now is the time to show off your wealth of useless knowledge and maybe even win yourself some cash at the same time. What can you ask for, eh?

Announcing the news Pointless' very own Richard Osman tweeted to say:

The application page reads: "Could you trust your mum, brother, housemate, or your partner to help you win big under pressure? We would love to hear from pairs of fun, lively people who think they can take up the Pointless challenge.

"If you are up for the challenge, then click APPLY NOW to get started."

Applicants need to be 18 years or over and a current legal resident of the United Kingdom and you'll also need to have a pal or family member who isn't ashamed to be seen on telly with you on the off chance you say something a bit stupid.

Alongside the application you'll need to send a recent photo or video of yourself and your fellow applicant. The closing date is Monday 1 February 2021.

Richard recently revealed that Pointless is set to resume filming later this year.

Writing in his newsletter, he said: "Some bits of TV are starting up again now.

"We are, for example, in the middle of filming 105 episodes of House Of Games (this is also not an exclusive, but only because I've told you before).

"However, we also received news this week that we will be filming 226 new episodes of Pointless and Pointless Celebrities, starting later this year!"

He added: "I'm very excited to be getting back into the studio with my lovely colleague and friend, Xander."

Richard reckons they could be back in the studio (minus a live audience) in November and will be able to welcome audiences again in the new year.
